The reassurance everyone reported was that the Justice Department will not regulate AI. Nobody had claimed it would. What the president claimed, in writing, the day before, was criminal power over Anthropic and over Dario Amodei by name. The Attorney General ruled out the lesser half and confirmed the greater one in the same breath — we already have investigated — and not one follow-up was asked. Then the calendar. September 24: state dinner for Xi. Altman, Musk, Huang, Zuckerberg photographed. Amodei, the one man named in the post, absent on a scheduling conflict. Trump personally invites him. September 27, 10 p.m.: their first one-on-one, at the White House, no readout, nothing released about what was said. September 29: the AI summit with Speaker Johnson, which Amodei is not attending — Anthropic is sending a co-founder. The company is preparing an IPO. Every fact here is public and the connection between them is not provable, which is exactly the point and why this is filed as inference. Leverage does not have to be used to work, and when it isn't, it leaves no docket number for anyone to report.
