TRUMP / TRUMP JR. / UMAR KREMLEV
"I have no idea who Umar is, never heard of him... It was an "afterparty" given in their honor. Not a big deal!"
"He'd like me to go, but it's going to be just a small, little private affair. I said, you know, this is not good timing for me." — — President Trump, before the wedding, May 2026
ProPublica, September 14: Umar Kremlev paid hundreds of thousands for two of the three days of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump's Bahamas wedding celebration, on an island renting for roughly $100,000 a night, fireworks around $70,000, wired from IB Challenger, a Dubai company tied to the International Boxing Association he runs. The IOC expelled that federation in 2023 over corruption, opaque funding and Russian ties, including a stretch with sanctioned Gazprom as sole sponsor. Putin gave Kremlev a state medal in 2020 and the Order of Friendship in April 2026; in May he flew to China in Putin's official delegation. Ukraine has sanctioned him. The U.S. has not — and ProPublica reports he was worried about exactly that, plus American investigators. The couple confirmed it themselves on Instagram, signed "Don & Bettina": an "extraordinarily generous wedding gift from a friend." The president said he has never heard of the man and it is "not a big deal," and every particular of his statement holds up. The statement that does not is his own from May, the one entry #22 filed under Iran: "just a small, little private affair," and "not good timing for me." Nobody re-ran it. Nothing here is illegal — Trump Jr. holds no office, so no gift rule reaches him, which is the whole reason it belongs in this file. Sanctions are Treasury. Investigations are Justice. Both answer to the father.
