TRUMP / MAIL BALLOTS / USPS
"They can vote by mail if they want, because we seem to have no choice... But what we're concerned about is there seems to be — not seems to be — there is a lot of cheating in vote by mail."
"ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING" — — the same man, Truth Social, August 2026
Everyone filed it as a flip-flop: Republicans are down, so the man who called mail voting "inherently corrupt" now wants the ballots. Accurate, and the smallest reading on offer. A flip-flop means he changed his mind. He did not. Both halves are in one answer, seconds apart, and he hardened the fraud claim mid-sentence — "there seems to be — not seems to be — there is." He is telling his own voters to use a method he says in the same breath is being used to beat them. Nobody printed the two halves touching. Then the phrase that got no follow-up at all: "we seem to have no choice." Who took the choice away? He did. His executive order told USPS to make states declare and list their mail voters; a federal judge blocked it in August; the Supreme Court declined to let it take effect in September in a one-paragraph order — and entry #46 recorded that the Court granted the stay calling the rule hypothetical after the rule had already issued at 9 p.m. on a Friday. "No choice" is a description of his own litigation record, read as a shrug. Saturday's video added "a midterm victory that is too big to rig," which is a turnout pitch and a pre-written explanation for losing in the same clause. And in the same Monday gaggle he attacked Maricopa County's ballot mailing by name. Twenty-nine days out, Reuters/Ipsos has him at 32 percent and Democrats up 44–37. He is asking for ballots he has spent six years saying cannot be counted honestly.
