HAST In Amarillo, downtown maintenance continues on Buchanan Street and Taylor Street, with traffic changes expected to continue into next week. That's the City of Canyon via MyHighPlains and KAMR-KCIT, and the City of Amarillo via the MyHighPlains traffic desk.
KELI The simple read is cones and a slower drive. The structural piece is two cities working the same window on different clocks. Canyon's job is dated through Wednesday. Amarillo downtown does not end Wednesday — it runs into next week. If you drive Hunsley, or if you use Buchanan or Taylor, plan the stretch, not one morning.
KELI Different front. Potter County Elections Administration says some voters received unsolicited mail-in voting applications.
HAST Some of those forms are not from the Texas Secretary of State's Office, and they may not leave enough space for a complete ID or driver's license number. If you already requested a ballot by mail and you completed the annual form, you do not need to apply again.

KELI Separate front now — the National Weather Service in Amarillo issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook at one thirty-three p.m. central today. Through tonight: isolated to scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, favoring the northern Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles, with gusty winds and lightning, and a wildfire start risk noted.
HAST An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Palo Duro Canyon and portions of the far southeast Texas Panhandle, temperatures near one hundred ten degrees. A Heat Advisory covers most of the central and eastern combined Panhandles, one hundred five to one hundred nine. Heat advisories likely continue through the early week. Storm chances rise midweek evenings. Severe chance is low, not ruled out.
KELI MyHighPlains meteorologist Brian James says the heat wave continues into Sunday morning, humidity is low, and there is a slim chance of an isolated shower as a weak disturbance drifts from Colorado and Kansas.
