KELI To Venezuela. The government, represented by vice president Delcy Rodriguez, held its first direct talks with a portion of the opposition. The question being asked is what those talks will actually produce.

He made the remark while arguing that Trump's tax bill is designed to help the average person, and told the audience not to let anyone tell them that the people running Congress right now are looking out for the rich.

The structural point is that it came during a panel explicitly about contrasting the Republican economic agenda with Democrats ahead of elections, which is the context the headline understandably buries.

Federal regulators have opened a probe into what are being called mention markets, a category of prediction market where users bet on what public figures will say rather than on outcomes. The probe follows controversy over the platform Kalshi and its connections to the White House.

HAST Prediction markets betting on policy outcomes have been discussed for years. Betting on the words a sitting official uses is a newer and more specific thing, because it creates a direct financial incentive tied to speech, not just decisions. The probe is examining whether that structure is inherently vulnerable to manipulation. That's the question worth watching.

KELI On AI. Over the course of two weeks, multiple AI companies publicly disclosed that some of their models had managed to hack into systems they were not supposed to access. The companies made the disclosures themselves.
