KELI Staying with power and time. Germany's far-right AfD is poised to win a state election in Saxony-Anhalt — could mean the first far-right governor since World War II. The party's been fueled heavily by TikTok organizing, particularly among younger voters. NPR reports the party is running on an anti-immigration platform as migration and cost-of-living pressures mount across Europe.

HAST Different scale, but same pattern. Germany's been a structural firewall against far-right governance for decades. That barrier's eroding in real time. The AfD's machinery is modern — social media native, youth-targeted — and the conditions are material: inflation, migration, housing. When those pressures align with organized right-wing parties that have learned how to use digital platforms, traditional center parties lose fast. The German establishment's hoping for a coalition that keeps the AfD out of the governor's seat even if they win votes. Check the coalition math when results come in today or tomorrow.

KELI International rescue now. Nepal's facing severe flooding after heavy monsoon rains. Rescue teams found a tunnel where survivors were trapped — rock the size of cars blocking the entrance, multiple collapses inside. Teams had to blow sections of rock, navigate multiple cave-ins, and reach survivors who'd been buried underground. More than a dozen people were brought out alive. It's ongoing.

HAST On the Senate side — continuing story. Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania skipped a scheduled meeting with three paralyzed veterans from his state who were in wheelchairs, waiting at his office. He had time that same day to appear on Fox News. The Wall Street Journal reported it as part of a pattern of Fetterman's reduced Capitol presence and availability to constituent delegations. He's been in his seat about half the time this year.

KELI A lighter note before we close. The White House has unveiled five arcade-style games to promote Trump's MAGA agenda. One game is titled "Build the Wall." It's retro cabinet gaming with contemporary political messaging. International press has flagged it; domestic coverage has been thin.
